I have worked with motion capture since about 1995. The first system was a magnetic motion capture system. Although it worked well, at times, the magnetic field required for motion capture was unstable and sometimes you needed a witch doctor to sort it out. I discovered Vicon optical motion capture system, and that was it for me.
We've had a Vicon motion capture system at Brunel University for about 8 years. We used V-Cams, they were analogue, worked great for years but time and technology has moved on. New motion capture camera systems from Vicon, the Bonita and TCams are digital, and work with their new software Blade. We are going with T10, the 1 megapixel camera.
To set up the room we've been dealing with project managers to set up the dual purpose room. First blacking out the room for photography, then having scaffolding installed thanks to Lancelyn Theatre Supplies. After the scaffolding we'll get Vicon in to install the cameras and software. Exciting!
That's all for now
